Miss Mayhem asked:

Is cold bad for sperm? Sometimes we will use a cold (refrigerated) … toy or vegetable product during sex… While TTC will that be a problem? Could it damage the sperm?

If the sperm is not being put in whatevr it is you are using. I don’t see why or how it could be harmful. Now if you are putting sperm in those things(except plastic) I think it probably would make sperm ineffective.

    Good luck

Sperm like to live at a certain temperature… so yes, it will affect the sperm if “things” aren’t the ideal condition.

The cold shouldn’t hurt, but the product itself is probably detrimental for sperm life. Most lubricants have slight spermiciadal properties.

I have read that sperm can live inside a women for 3-5 days but the environment must be favourable. Favourable means a good temp. Sperm may swim less effectively or live shorter lives in a cold or hot environment. If it is so cold that you feel there afterwards and inside you is cold too, then it might affect the sperm. But a little lower temp might not be effective at all. Just an opinoin drawn up by recent readings. Hope it helped.
